Nick Sosa

Nick

Bio: Nick Sosa is a senior at Mercy College looking to finish out his school sentence and break out this academic prison to pursue a life long pursuit of sound engineering. Ever since he was a young pup he has always been fascinated with finding the best ways to get sound out of his stereo. From speakers with the copper threads to taping together pieces of tape ribbon to preserve his music, Nick has always pushed his creativity to the limits. Through his boot camp training at the academy of Music Industry + Technology he has went from an audio renegade to a soldier of sound waves. With his love for poetry, basketball, music and a bunch of crazy Nuyorican cousins, Nick naturally gravitated towards the raw sounds of hip hop. Music is all, without it the world would seem dull, therefore, Love all, and we all have a brighter future.

Program Notes: Hip Hop Union is more then a song. It's the gathering of a culture that has had a tremendously powerful impact shaping society. The smooth melodic sounds of J Solo set the movement forward and the personal lyrical depth reach those in the culture, one by one, that may have steered elsewhere. If Hip Hop was Voltron, then this is the roll call for everyone to hop in the lions. The powerful intelligence of Malcolm X breathes life into this movement as future meets past in this masterpiece of knowledge and awareness. If you don't know where you've came from, you'll never know where you're going.
