Professor Ward

About Professor Ward:

Assistant Professor Stephen B. Ward, is a freelance recording engineer/producer, studio consultant, and a member of New York City bands "Uncle Izzy" and "The Beeps." Formerly, he was a Maintenance Technician at the legendary Power Station in New York, and at the Sound Museum and The Tape Complex in Boston. In addition, he has worked as a freelance engineer and editor for a number of artists at Mu Music, a studio designed and built by Mr. Ward. He has taught Music Technology for more than fifteen years at Berklee College of Music, Center for Media Arts, Institute of Audio Research, New School University, Daiichi Kosho, and Mercy College.

Mr. Ward received his Bachelor of Music degree (cum Laude) in Music Production and Engineering from Berklee College of Music (1987) and a Masters of Music in Music Technology at New York University (2002). Commissioned works include compositions and arrangements for the Tufts University and Brandeis University Big Bands. Original film scores include: Murder Too Sweet (1994), Eternal Memory: Voices from the Great Terror (1997), Dreams of a Rarebit Fiend (1999), Boomer (2001), and Juvenile Justice, a joint ABC/PBS production of Frontline (2001).

Recent projects include dialog editing for The Pitch, a short film by Jonathan Kaplan, and audio mixing and recording for Architect Fails, The Beeps, & Uncle Izzy.
